597 قبل مسیح دے محاصرے دے بعد، جدید بابلی سلطنت دے بادشاہ بخت نصر نے 21 سالہ صدقیاہ نو‏‏ں یہودا دا بادشاہ مقرر کیتا۔ پر، صدقیاہ نے بابل دے خلاف بغاوت ک‏‏‏‏ر دتی تے مصری فرعون دے نال اتحاد ک‏‏‏‏ر لیا۔ بخت نصر نے یہودا اُتے حملے دے ذریعے جواب دتا^[۱] تے دسمبر 589 ق م وچ یروشلم دے محاصرے دا آغاز ہويا۔^[۲] اس محاصرے دے دوران، جو اٹھارہ یا تیس ماہ تک جاری رہیا، ہر طرح د‏‏ی تکلیف و تباہی شہر نو‏‏ں پہنچی، جس تلچھٹ دے لئی خدا دے غضب دا پیالہ پیتا گیا سی ۔^[۳]
